How it works

1. Activate Steelfin Whale using the ability granted to it by Wolfhunter's Quiver by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. When the Treasure enters, Steelfin Whale triggers, untapping Steelfin Whale.
4. Repeat.

This clever self-contained loop turns Steelfin Whale into a lethal sharpshooter by arming it with Wolfhunter's Quiver, allowing the whale to tap and ping Smaug the Impenetrable for one point of damage. Because Smaug the Impenetrable is indestructible, it happily survives the hit while its ability triggers to generate a Treasure token. Every time that Treasure enters the battlefield, Steelfin Whale’s passive affinity discount helps frame the board state while its triggered ability untaps the whale immediately, readying it to fire again and fuel an endless cascade of artifacts and mana.
