Grimoire

A reference for known card combinations — study how they work, then go build a deck around one. This isn't tied to your Collection or any one deck; it's a place to learn what's out there.

A combo is a set of cards that, played together, do something far more powerful than any of them manage alone — ramping you well ahead of your opponents, or ending the game outright. A few kinds you'll run into here:

  • Infinite combos — a loop you can repeat any number of times: infinite mana, infinite creature tokens, infinite card draw. The loop itself usually isn't the win — it sets up something else to finish the job.
  • Win-the-game combos — a specific sequence that ends the game the moment you finish it, no follow-up required.
  • Lock combos — instead of winning outright, these strip your opponents' ability to meaningfully play the game, buying you time to close it out later.

Combos by Format

Total known combos legal in each format. A narrower format like Standard naturally has far fewer -- its legal card pool is a small fraction of Commander's decades of cards, not a sign anything's missing.
