How it works

1. Activate Chatterfang by paying and sacrificing another Squirrel.
2. When the Squirrel dies, Pitiless Plunderer triggers, creating a 1/1 Squirrel creature token and a Treasure token.
3. Activate a Treasure token by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
4. Repeat.
5. Resolve all Chatterfang abilities, causing any number of target creatures to get +1/-1 until end of turn any number of times.

This clever pairing turns a humble sacrifice into a self-sustaining engine by letting Pitiless Plunderer and Chatterfang, Squirrel General feed into each other endlessly. Whenever you pay Chatterfang's activation cost to sacrifice a Squirrel, the Plunderer triggers off that death to provide a Treasure token, while Chatterfang's replacement effect simultaneously doubles your token production by tossing in an extra Squirrel. You can then crack that Treasure for the black mana needed to keep the loop rolling, generating an infinite cascade of death triggers, artifact sacrifices, and colored mana. As a sweet bonus, Chatterfang's ability can be layered repeatedly during the process to shrink opposing creatures' toughness to zero, wiping the board clean of threats while you combo off.
