How it works
Activate up to five lands by tapping them, adding at least 2.
Cast Displace by paying 2, blinking Skullwinder and Peregrine Drake
When Skullwinder and Peregrine Drake enter the battlefield, their abilities trigger.
Resolve the Skullwinder trigger, returning Displace from your graveyard to your hand.
Resolve the Peregrine Drake trigger, untapping up to five lands.
Repeat.
This elegant loop dances entirely on the back of Displace, which resets both of our catalytic creatures at once. As Peregrine Drake enters the battlefield, its triggered ability untaps your lands to pay for the next iteration of the spell, while Skullwinder retrieves Displace from your graveyard to keep the chain unbroken. The beauty here is that Skullwinder also forces an opponent to return a card from their graveyard, but since you control the pacing and recursion indefinitely, you can comfortably loop this engine in formats like commander, legacy, oathbreaker, and vintage to generate infinite mana and boundless triggers.
