How it works

1. Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing Drownyard Temple.
2. Each Scouring Swarm you control triggers, creating a tapped token copy of itself.
3. Resolve the Trenching Steed ability.
4. If you control four or more Scouring Swarms, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Scouring Swarm, adding .
5. Repeat step 4 until you control three Scouring Swarms or until you have 3 available, whichever comes first.
6. Activate Drownyard Temple by paying 3, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat.

This loop transforms the synergy of sacrifice and recursion into an engine that generates infinite colorless mana, tapped token copies, and death triggers across legal formats like Commander and Vintage. Trenching Steed acts as the core enabler for land sacrifice, which triggers Scouring Swarm to flood your board with token copies once your graveyard has seven or more land cards to fulfill its condition. Ashnod's Altar converts those newly minted swarms into the mana needed to fund Drownyard Temple's activated ability, pulling the sacrificed land straight out of your graveyard and back onto the battlefield to keep the entire cycle running indefinitely.
