How it works

1. Activate Need for Speed by sacrificing Drownyard Temple.
2. Each Scouring Swarm you control triggers, creating a tapped token copy of itself.
3. Resolve the Need for Speed ability.
4. If you control four or more Scouring Swarms, activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a Scouring Swarm, adding 1.
5. Repeat step 4 until you control three Scouring Swarms or until you have 3 available, whichever comes first.
6. Activate Drownyard Temple by paying 3, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat.

This clever engine uses Need for Speed to sacrifice Drownyard Temple as a land, which fuels Scouring Swarm's ability once your graveyard holds seven or more land cards to start churning out token copies. Phyrexian Altar acts as the sacrificial outlet to turn those extra swarms into the mana needed to activate Drownyard Temple and bring it right back to the battlefield. By looping this sequence, you continuously recur your land and swarm the board with a limitless army of tapped creature tokens.
