How it works

1. Activate Battered Golem using the ability granted to it by Power of Fire by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. When the Treasure enters, Battered Golem triggers, untapping Battered Golem.
4. Repeat.

By enchanting Battered Golem with Power of Fire, you grant the construct a direct-damage tap ability, turning it into a localized arsonist capable of pinging Smaug the Impenetrable for 1 damage. Because Smaug the Impenetrable boasts an indestructible frame, it safely survives the onslaught while its triggered ability translates that noncombat damage directly into a gushing horde of Treasure tokens. Every single Treasure token that enters the battlefield acts as a metallic catalyst for Battered Golem, instantly untapping the creature so you can immediately tap it to repeat the fiery cycle.
