How it works

1. During your upkeep, activate Teardrop Kami by sacrificing it, targeting Hell's Caretaker.
2. When Teardrop Kami dies, Golgari Germination triggers, creating a 1/1 Saproling creature token.
3. Resolve the Teardrop Kami trigger, untapping Hell's Caretaker.
4. Activate Hell's Caretaker by tapping it and sacrificing the Saproling, returning Teardrop Kami from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the passive generation of fodder to fuel an upkeep-bound recursion engine. Golgari Germination plays a crucial role as the engine's catalyst, automatically replacing every sacrificed body with a fresh 1/1 green Saproling creature token whenever a nontoken creature you control dies. This token immediately provides the necessary material for Hell's Caretaker to tap, sacrifice the Saproling, and pull Teardrop Kami right back from your graveyard to the battlefield. Meanwhile, Teardrop Kami's active sacrifice ability targets Hell's Caretaker directly, untapping the Caretaker so the entire process can begin anew during your upkeep.
