How it works

1. Activate Hardened Academic by discarding a land card.
2. Slogurk triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Resolve the Hardened Academic ability.
4. Repeat from step 1 two additional times.
5. Activate Slogurk by removing three +1/+1 counters from it, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. When Slogurk leaves the battlefield, it triggers, returning three land cards from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Cast Slogurk by paying E due to Primal Prayers.
8. When Slogurk enters, Guide of Souls triggers, causing you to get E.
9. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in recycling resources, transforming simple discards into an endless cycle of creature movement and energy generation. Hardened Academic serves as the discard outlet that sends your land cards to the graveyard, which in turn triggers Slogurk, the Overslime to grow with counters while simultaneously feeding Hardened Academic's trigger when those lands leave the graveyard. Once Slogurk has gathered enough counters to bounce itself back to your hand, its leaves-the-battlefield ability triggers to scoop those discarded lands right back into your hand. From there, Primal Prayers steps in to bypass normal mana costs by letting you recast Slogurk using energy, which triggers Guide of Souls to supply the necessary energy to keep the engine roaring while you rack up infinite storm count, life, and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
