This clever loop turns Ashnod's Altar into an infinite mana engine by exploiting the constant rebirth of Ambitious Aetherborn. The key to keeping the cycle going is Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn), which grants Ambitious Aetherborn the persist ability so it returns from the grave after being sacrificed. When the Aetherborn reenters the battlefield, its fabricate 1 ability places a +1/+1 counter on it, which immediately neutralizes the -1/+1 counter it received from persist through state-based actions. This allows the creature to be sacrificed to the Altar over and over again, generating endless colorless mana alongside a storm of death and sacrifice triggers.
