How it works

1. Cast Volcano Hellion by paying 2.
2. When Volcano Hellion enters the battlefield, it triggers, dealing an arbitrarily large amount of damage to you and Volcano Hellion.
3. Instead of you losing the game as a state-based action, Lich's Mirror causes you to shuffle your hand, graveyard and all permanents you own into your library, causing Rhox Faithmender to return to the battlefield as Suspension Field leaves the battlefield, and causing you to gain life equal to twice the amount of damage dealt to you plus 40.

This clever loop kicks off when Volcano Hellion enters the battlefield and targets itself with an arbitrarily large amount of damage, which also crashes your life total below zero. Rather than losing the game, Lich's Mirror steps in to completely reset your board and hand, shuffling everything you own back into your library while restoring your life total to 20 and triggering a cascade of zone changes. As your permanents are wiped away, Suspension Field leaves the battlefield to return Rhox Faithmender—which immediately supercharges the massive life-gain event triggered by the Hellion's damage, doubling it twice over to skyrocket your life total into the stratosphere.
