How it works

1. Cast Volcano Hellion by paying 2.
2. When Volcano Hellion enters the battlefield, it triggers, dealing an arbitrarily large amount of damage to you and Volcano Hellion.
3. Instead of you losing the game as a state-based action, Lich's Mirror causes you to shuffle your hand, graveyard and all permanents you own into your library, causing Rhox Faithmender to phase in as Oubliette leaves the battlefield, and causing you to gain life equal to twice the amount of damage dealt to you plus 40.

This loop transforms lethal self-inflicted damage into an unending spiral of life and library resets. When Volcano Hellion enters the battlefield, you choose to deal an arbitrarily large amount of damage to both yourself and Volcano Hellion, which would normally end the game; however, Lich's Mirror steps in to save you by resetting your board, hand, and graveyard into your library while resetting your life total to 20. This massive shuffle triggers Oubliette to leave the battlefield, causing the phased-out Rhox Faithmender to return just in time to double the incoming life gain to staggering heights.
