Wrong Turn

How it works

1. Cast Wrong Turn by paying 2, giving control of Vilis to an opponent.
2. During that opponent's draw step, they draw a card.
3. Nekusar triggers, dealing 1 damage to the opponent.
4. Vilis triggers, causing the opponent to draw a card.
5. Repeat from step 3 until the opponent loses the game either due to drawing from an empty library, or from having 0 life.

This clever sequence kicks off when Wrong Turn places Vilis, Broker of Blood under an opponent's control, setting up a brutal feedback loop with Nekusar, the Mindrazer. During that opponent's draw step, Nekusar's static draw ability triggers the first card draw, which in turn prompts Nekusar to deal 1 damage to them. That loss of life immediately activates Vilis's triggered ability, forcing the opponent to draw a card in response—which feeds right back into Nekusar's damage trigger to drain their life total or empty their library entirely.
