How it works

2. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Mirror Image by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the self-contained recycling of -1/-1 counters between Grim Poppet and Mirror Image—which enters as a copy of the Poppet to keep the synergy flowing—into an endless engine for your battlefield.
