How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Clone.
2. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Clone by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever feedback loop lets you ping your own creatures back and forth to generate an endless stream of reinforcements. Grim Poppet starts the engine by spending its own -1/-1 counters to place one on Clone, which is safely copying another creature on your board. Once that counter lands, Flourishing Defenses spots it and rewards you with a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token. You then use Clone's newly acquired ability to remove that counter and place one back onto Grim Poppet, triggering Flourishing Defenses all over again. By bouncing the counter indefinitely between the two creatures, you create an infinite loop of creature tokens and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
