How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Dack's Duplicate.
2. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Dack's Duplicate by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever looping engine turns the counters flying between Grim Poppet and a clone of it into a ceaseless factory for your army. By having Dack's Duplicate enter the battlefield as a copy of Grim Poppet, you create a symmetrical pair of creatures that can pass a single -1/-1 counter back and forth indefinitely. Each time that counter moves to either creature, Flourishing Defenses spots the new counter being placed and rewards you with a fresh 1/1 green Elf Warrior token.
