How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Pirated Copy.
2. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Pirated Copy by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Flourishing Defenses triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the back-and-forth distribution of -1/-1 counters into an endless supply of bodies. By having Pirated Copy enter the battlefield as a copy of Grim Poppet, you get two creatures that can each spend their own counters to place one on the other, resetting the counter supply with every activation. Every single time a counter is placed, Flourishing Defenses triggers to reward you with a fresh Elf Warrior token. The result is an unstoppable engine for infinite creature tokens and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
