How it works

1. Activate Tortured Existence by paying and discarding a creature card, returning any other creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
2. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.

This clever graveyard loop is fueled by Tortured Existence, which lets you cycle creature cards between your hand and graveyard for a mere single black mana. Each time a creature card leaves your graveyard, Insidious Roots triggers to produce a 0/1 Plant token while passively pumping all your existing Plants with +1/+1 counters.
