How it works
- Activate Sensei's Divining Top's second ability by tapping it, causing you to draw a card and put Sensei's Diving Top on top of your library.
- Cast Sensei's Divining Top from the top of your library by paying 1.
- Sai triggers, creating a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
- Activate the Thopter token by tapping it, adding that can only be spent to cast spells from anywhere except your hand.
- Repeat.
This clever loop hinges on the synergy between Sensei's Divining Top and Mm'menon, the Right Hand, which allows you to repeatedly cast the top from your library by tapping it to draw itself and place it back on top. Meanwhile, Mm'menon, the Right Hand's static ability grants your artifacts the mana-producing capability needed to fund this casting cost, utilizing the restriction to cleanly cast from outside the hand. Every time you cast the artifact, Sai, Master Thopterist triggers to churn out a Thopter token, which can be immediately tapped for the required blue mana thanks to Mm'menon, the Right Hand's mana ability. While Hammer of Purphoros isn't strictly necessary to execute the loop, its presence ensures that the resulting army of Thopter tokens enters with haste to immediately overwhelm your opponents.
