How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Flayer of the Hatebound
2. When Flayer of the Hatebound dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Flayer of the Hatebound enters, it triggers, dealing damage equal to its power to any target.
4. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Flayer of the Hatebound
5. When Flayer of the Hatebound dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
6. When Flayer of the Hatebound enters, it triggers, dealing damage equal to its power to any target.
7. Resolve both Bartolomé del Presidio abilities from step 1 and 4.
8. Repeat.

This brilliant setup converts a relentless cycle of sacrifice and rebirth into lethal artillery, anchored by Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's static granting of persist to your nontoken creatures. When you sacrifice Flayer of the Hatebound to Bartolomé del Presidio, the Flayer's undying ability resurrects it with a +1/+1 counter, triggering its damage-dealing entrance and growing Bartolomé as you sacrifice the Flayer again. Thanks to Isilu granting persist once you've flipped Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn, the next resurrection brings the Flayer back with a -1/+1 counter structure that perpetually resets its counters—allowing the Flayer to endlessly bounce between the graveyard and battlefield while repeatedly burning down any target.
