How it works

1. During your precombat main phase, cast Victimize by paying 2 and sacrificing another creature, returning Xiahou Dun and Abhorrent Overlord from your graveyard to the battlefield.
2. When Abhorrent Overlord enters, it triggers, creating a number of 1/1 Harpy creature tokens equal to your devotion to black.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar three times by sacrificing Abhorrent Overlord and two Harpies. adding 2.
4. Activate Xiahou Dun by sacrificing it, returning Victimize from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Victimize to pull both Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and Abhorrent Overlord straight from your graveyard into play. Once Abhorrent Overlord enters the battlefield, its devotion-based trigger floods the board with Harpy tokens, providing the raw material needed for Phyrexian Altar to generate black mana upon sacrifice. You then sacrifice Xiahou Dun to itself to pull Victimize right back to your hand, allowing you to recast the sorcery and repeat the entire cycle indefinitely.
