How it works

1. Cast Heartless Act by paying 1, removing up to three oil counters from Archfiend of the Dross.
2. Activate Coveted Falcon by paying 1, turning it face up.
3. Coveted Falcon triggers, causing an opponent to gain control of Archfiend of the Dross and causing you to draw a card.
4. At the beginning of the opponent's next upkeep, Archfiend of the Dross triggers, causing the opponent to remove an oil counter from it and lose the game.

This delightfully twisted loop uses Archfiend of the Dross as a ticking time bomb that you graciously hand over to your rival. By using Heartless Act, you strip away the fiend's oil counters ahead of schedule, setting its impending doom in motion. Then, you flip Coveted Falcon face up to shove the cursed demon across the table; because the archfiend's upkeep trigger checks the controller of the permanent rather than its original owner, that unfortunate opponent inherits the empty counter total and immediately loses the game on their very next turn.
