How it works

1. Activate Agonasaur Rex's cycling ability by paying 2 and discarding it.
2. Agonasaur Rex triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness.
3. Evolution Witness triggers, returning Agonasaur Rex from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
5. Resolve the Agonasaur Rex ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
6. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
7. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the tapped Plant, adding CC.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop starts by cycling Agonasaur Rex to trigger its ability, which places two +1/+1 counters onto Evolution Witness. In response, Evolution Witness triggers its own ability to return the discarded Agonasaur Rex right back to your hand, while Insidious Roots watches a creature card leave your graveyard to happily churn out a 0/1 Plant creature token. That newly minted Plant taps for mana through its innate ability and can then be immediately sacrificed to Ashnod's Altar for colorless mana, funding the next cycle. Meanwhile, Phabine, Boss's Confidant sits proudly on the battlefield, ensuring your entire token army benefits from haste as you cycle and loop your way through infinite card draw.
