How it works

1. Cast a copy of the prepared spell by paying its mana cost.
2. When you cast that spell, Displacer Kitten and Dovescape trigger.
3. Resolve the Dovescape trigger, countering the prepared spell and creating a number of 1/1 flying Bird creature tokens equal to its mana value.
4. Resolve the Displacer Kitten trigger, blinking Studious First-Year // Rampant Growth, which enters prepared.
5. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a Bird token, adding one mana of any color.
6. Repeat step 5 until you have enough mana to cast the prepared spell.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns the simple act of casting a spell into a self-sustaining engine of feathers and mana. Whenever you cast the prepared half of Studious First-Year // Rampant Growth, both Dovescape and Displacer Kitten trigger off the noncreature spell: Dovescape counters your spell to gift you a flock of flying Bird tokens, while Displacer Kitten blinks the Studious First-Year // Rampant Growth so it enters the battlefield prepared all over again. You then feed those generated Bird tokens into Phyrexian Altar to generate the colored mana needed to pay for the spell's cost and cast it once more. Because the Studious First-Year // Rampant Growth resets itself fresh on each blink, the entire sequence loops seamlessly to fuel endless sacrifice and storm counts.
