How it works

1. Activate up to seven lands you control by tapping them, adding at least 1.
2. Cast Mourning by paying its mana cost, targeting Displacer Kitten
3. Displacer Kitten triggers, blinking Great Whale.
4. When Great Whale enters the battlefield, it triggers, untapping up to seven lands.
5. Resolve the Mourning spell.
6. Activate Mourning by paying , returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns a seemingly modest Aura into an engine of boundless energy by orchestrating a continuous cycle of re-entry. You begin by casting Mourning, which triggers Displacer Kitten's avoidance ability to exile and return Great Whale; as the Whale enters the battlefield, its triggered ability untaps your lands to replenish your mana supply. Meanwhile, Mourning's own activated ability lets you return it to your hand for a single black mana, allowing you to recast it and repeat the entire sequence. Because Great Whale refunds your land taps and Mourning easily bounces back to your hand, every iteration leaves you with extra mana and endless triggers.
