How it works

  1. Activate up to five lands you control by tapping them, adding at least 1W manaW mana.
  2. Cast Conviction by paying its mana cost, targeting Displacer Kitten
  3. Displacer Kitten triggers, blinking Peregrine Drake.
  4. When Peregrine Drake enters the battlefield, it triggers, untapping up to five lands.
  5. Resolve the Conviction spell.
  6. Activate Conviction by paying W mana, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a modest white enchantment into a massive engine by leaning on the persistent blink trigger of Displacer Kitten whenever you cast a noncreature spell. By casting Conviction, you trigger the Kitten to exile and return Peregrine Drake, whose entrance ability immediately untaps your lands to replenish your mana supply. Once Conviction resolves on the battlefield, you can use its own activated ability to bounce it right back to your hand for a single white mana, ready to be recast. Because the mana generated by the untapped lands outpaces the cost to bounce and recast the Aura, you create a self-sustaining loop that generates infinite mana, endless enter-the-battlefield and leave-the-battlefield triggers, and an unbounded storm count.
