How it works

1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Honden of Cleansing Fire triggers, causing you to gain at least six life.
2. Proceed to your end step.
3. At the beginning of your end step, Lathiel triggers, putting at least six +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours.
4. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, taking at least one extra turn after this one.
5. Repeat each turn.

It all starts during your upkeep when Honden of Cleansing Fire steadily fills your life total, ensuring you always meet the threshold to trigger Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn. Once you reach the end step, Lathiel showers those accumulated life-gain increments as +1/+1 counters straight onto Sage of Hours. Finally, you cash in those very counters using Sage of Hours's ability to take extra turns, setting up an unbroken cycle of endless upkeep triggers.
