How it works

1. Activate Dalakos by tapping it, adding CC that can only be spent to cast artifact spells or to activate abilities of artifacts.
2. Activate Pentavus's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Pentavite creature token.
3. Activate Pentavus's second ability by paying 1 and sacrificing a Pentavite.
4. When the Pentavite dies, Dalakos triggers, untapping Dalakos.
5. Resolve the Pentavus ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Pentavus into a self-sustaining engine by utilizing Thornbite Staff to continuously untap Dalakos, Crafter of Wonders. Because Dalakos produces mana restricted to artifact spells and artifact abilities, it conveniently pays the activation costs to cycle Pentavus's counters and tokens back and forth. The Staff's triggered ability provides the crucial untaps every time a Pentavite creature token hits the graveyard, allowing you to repeat the sacrifice and counter-generation process indefinitely.
