How it works

1. Activate Sarevok's Tome by tapping it, adding CC.
2. Activate Pentavus's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Pentavite creature token.
3. Activate Pentavus's second ability by paying 1 and sacrificing the Pentavite.
4. When the Pentavite dies, Dross Scorpion triggers, untapping Sarevok's Tome.
5. Resolve the Pentavus ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat.

This elegant engine turns Pentavus into a self-sustaining sacrifice loop, utilizing its ability to strip and rebuild its own +1/+1 counters via manufactured tokens. Whenever a Pentavite perishes, Dross Scorpion springs to action to untap Sarevok's Tome, ensuring a steady stream of colorless mana to pay for the continuous cycle of creation and sacrifice. Meanwhile, Sarevok's Tome anchors the loop not only by fueling the mana costs with its initiative-boosted taps, but also by granting the initiative upon entry to set the entire machine in motion.
