How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Furystoke Giant.
2. When Furystoke Giant dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Thran Vigil triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Furystoke Giant.
4. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns Bloodflow Connoisseur into a relentless executioner that feeds on Furystoke Giant's endless cycle of death and rebirth. When Furystoke Giant hits the graveyard, its persist mechanic would normally return it with a crippling -1/-1 counter, but Thran Vigil steps in to instantly neutralize that drawback by placing a +1/+1 counter on the Giant as it leaves the graveyard. Because +1/+1 and -1/+1 counters annihilate each other as a state-based action, Furystoke Giant is left completely clean of counters and ready to be sacrificed to Bloodflow Connoisseur all over again.
