How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Furystoke Giant
2. When Furystoke Giant dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Furystoke Giant enters, Stalwart Successor triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Furystoke Giant
4. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop begins with Carrion Feeder serving as the ultimate executioner, instantly consuming Furystoke Giant to fuel its own growth with +1/+1 counters. When Furystoke Giant hits the graveyard, its persist ability rescues it, bringing it right back to the battlefield bearing a -1/-1 counter. That's where Stalwart Successor shines: its passive trigger spots those fresh counters for the first time that turn and slaps a +1/+1 counter onto the Giant, which immediately neutralizes the -1/-1 counter via Magic's state-based counter annihilation rules. With the Giant's slate wiped clean, you can freely sacrifice it to Carrion Feeder all over again, creating a self-sustaining cycle of endless triggers.
