How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Highspire Artisan.
2. When Highspire Artisan dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Highspire Artisan enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the back side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight into an engine of eternal returns by granting every other nontoken creature you control persist. When you sacrifice Highspire Artisan to Bartolomé del Presidio, its newfound persist ability brings it straight back to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter. Fortunately, Highspire Artisan's fabricate ability triggers upon re-entry, placing a +1/+1 counter that immediately annihilates the lingering -1/-1 counter through state-based actions. This leaves Highspire Artisan completely clean and ready to be sacrificed all over again, generating infinite sacrifice and death triggers alongside endless growth for Bartolomé del Presidio.
