How it works

1. During an opponent's turn, activate Heart of Kiran by tapping Wylie Duke.
2. Wylie Duke triggers, causing you to draw a card and gain 1 life.
3. The Watcher's first ability triggers, creating a 1/1 Tentacle creature token.
4. Resolve the Heart of Kiran ability, causing it to become a creature until end of turn.
5. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing the Tentacle.
6. When the Tentacle dies, The Watcher's second ability triggers, untapping Wylie Duke and putting a stun counter on up to one permanent.
7. Repeat.

By letting Rukarumel, Biologist declare "Tentacle" as its chosen creature type, every nontoken creature you control—including Wylie Duke, Atiin Hero—gains that type to synergize with the rest of the engine. You can tap Wylie Duke to bypass the crew cost of Heart of Kiran, which triggers Wylie Duke to draw a card and gain you life. The Watcher in the Water notices you drawing during an opponent's turn and instantly spawns a Tentacle creature token. Sacrificing that Tentacle to Thermopod generates red mana and triggers The Watcher in the Water's second ability to untap Wylie Duke, looping the whole process for infinite card draw, lifegain, and red mana.
