How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping it.
2. Activate Necrotic Ooze by tapping it and removing a -1/-1 counter from it, causing you to draw a card.
3. Repeat.

This clever interaction turns Necrotic Ooze into a self-sustaining engine by borrowing the activated abilities of both Cinderhaze Wretch and Soul Diviner from your graveyard. You simply place a -1/-1 counter on Necrotic Ooze to untap it using Cinderhaze Wretch's untap ability, and then immediately remove that same counter to tap and draw a card using Soul Diviner's ability. Because the counter needed to untap is the exact counter fed to Soul Diviner to draw, the ooze can loop these actions indefinitely for infinite card draw without ever needing outside mana.
