How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping it.
2. Activate Necrotic Ooze by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
3. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns Necrotic Ooze into a one-man powerhouse by letting it borrow the activated abilities of fallen creatures. Through Cinderhaze Wretch, the Ooze gains the ability to untap itself simply by absorbing a -1/-1 counter, while Morselhoarder provides the reverse mechanic by allowing it to strip away that same counter to generate a color of mana. Because adding and removing the counter cancels out in net count while yielding a profit of mana, the Ooze can repeat this cycle indefinitely to fuel your victory.
