How it works
- Activate Marvin using Axebane Guardian's ability by tapping it, adding at least two mana of any color.
- Activate Marvin using Pili-Pala's ability by paying 2 and untapping it, adding one mana of any color.
- Repeat.
This elegant loop turns Marvin, Murderous Mimic into a one-robot mana engine by borrowing the right traits from your other creatures. Axebane Guardian provides the initial burst of mana because its defender-counting tap ability is copied straight onto Marvin, netting you a surplus of mana right out of the gate. From there, Pili-Pala supplies the untap mechanism you need; by feeding just two mana into Pili-Pala's untap ability—now also housed inside Marvin—you can untap the mimic and generate another mana of any color in the process. Because Axebane Guardian and Pili-Pala each contribute a vital half of this equation, looping their combined abilities allows you to generate infinite colored mana in commander, legacy, modern, oathbreaker, and vintage.
