How it works

1. Activate Marvin using Vhal's ability by tapping it, adding at least CCC that cannot be spent to cast spells from your hand.
2. Activate Marvin using Pili-Pala's ability by paying 2 and untapping it, adding one mana of any color.
3. Repeat.

By combining Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher and Pili-Pala under the metallic guise of Marvin, Murderous Mimic, you create a powerful self-contained mana engine. Because Marvin gains the activated abilities of other creatures you control, it can tap using Vhal's toughness-based ability to generate a surplus of colorless mana, then filter and fuel that momentum by utilizing Pili-Pala's untap ability. This synergistic loop allows Marvin to continuously tap and untap, ultimately producing an infinite supply of both colored mana and restricted colorless mana to fund the rest of your strategy.
