How it works

1. Activate Marvin using Sage of the Maze's ability by tapping it, adding two mana of any color(s).
2. Activate Marvin using Pili-Pala's ability by paying 2 and untapping it, adding one mana of any color.
3. Repeat.

By positioning Marvin, Murderous Mimic alongside Pili-Pala and Sage of the Maze, Marvin inherits the activated abilities of both creatures simultaneously to forge a self-sustaining mana loop. While Sage of the Maze's tapped ability provides a net gain of two mana to fuel the engine, Pili-Pala’s untap ability—borrowed and paid for with the mana just generated—readies Marvin back up for the next cycle. This synergistic triad bypasses the normal restrictions of its parts, converting simple taps and untaps into an endless supply of colored mana.
