How it works

1. Activate Time Vault by tapping it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
2. Activate Instill Energy by paying 0, untapping Time Vault.
3. Repeat each turn.

This Vintage-legal combination transforms Time Vault from a tricky puzzle into an engine for infinite turns, leaning entirely on Animate Artifact to turn the legendary artifact into a creature so it can be legally targeted. Once Animate Artifact gives Time Vault power and toughness equal to its mana value, it becomes an eligible creature for Instill Energy to enchant. Instill Energy then provides a free, once-per-turn untap ability that bypasses Time Vault's restriction against untapping during your untap step. This lets you tap Time Vault to take an extra turn, untap it immediately with Instill Energy on your turn, and repeat the process indefinitely.
