How it works
Declare a creature you control that cannot be blocked by an opponent as an attacker.
Holding priority, activate Assimilation Aegis' equip ability by paying either 0 or 2, attaching it to the creature.
Assimilation Aegis' second ability triggers, causing the creature to become a copy of Medomai the Ageless.
Deal combat damage with the creature.
The creature triggers, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
Move to your next turn.
Activate Assimilation Aegis' equip ability by paying 0, attaching it to any other creature.
Assimilation Aegis' second ability triggers, causing the creature to become a copy of Medomai the Ageless.
Repeat.
This cunning loop exploits Medomai the Ageless's dreaded combat trigger while neatly bypassing its usual restriction against attacking during extra turns. By using Forge Anew, you not only discount the equip cost to zero on your turn and allow you to move it at instant speed, but you can also recur Assimilation Aegis from your graveyard if things go awry. Whenever you attach Assimilation Aegis to an unblocked attacker, its copy effect turns that creature into a fresh copy of Medomai the Ageless that hasn't attacked yet this turn, granting you an extra combat step and a subsequent extra turn. Because each new turn resets the restriction, you can simply shift the Aegis to a different creature on your next turn to repeat the process indefinitely.
