Abuelo, Ancestral Echo
Infinite turnsLock
How it works
Deal combat damage using Medomai, triggering its ability, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
Cast The Wondrous Wasp by paying 1.
When The Wondrous Wasp enters, it triggers, tapping Medomai and causing it to lose all its abilities until The Wondrous Wasp leaves the battlefield.
Move to your next turn.
Declare Medomai as an attacker.
Holding priority, activate Abuelo by paying 1, exiling The Wondrous Wasp until your end step. This will also cause Medomai to regain its abilities.
Deal combat damage using Medomai, triggering its ability, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
At the beginning of your end step, Abuelo triggers, returning The Wondrous Wasp from exile to the battlefield.
Repeat from step 3.
Normally, Medomai the Ageless comes with a strict clause preventing it from attacking during extra turns, bringing your infinite combat-turn engine to a dead halt. This brilliant loop sidesteps that restriction entirely by utilizing The Wondrous Wasp's entry trigger to strip Medomai of all its abilities—including the very text that stops it from attacking. To keep the engine running smoothly, Abuelo, Ancestral Echo steps in to temporarily exile The Wondrous Wasp right before combat damage is dealt, safely returning the Wondrous Wasp to the battlefield during your end step to repeat the suppression trick all over again on the following turn.
