How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Tormod triggers, creating three creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Survey Mechan as both the sacrifice outlet and the payoff, using its massive cost reduction from differently named lands to make recasting it trivial. When you sacrifice Survey Mechan, Mortuary catches it on its way to the graveyard and neatly places it right back on top of your library so you can draw it again. Meanwhile, Tormod, the Desecrator notices that card leaving your graveyard and triggers to spawn Zombie tokens, whose numbers are brilliantly tripled thanks to Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation's replacement effect. You then feed those extra tokens into Ashnod's Altar to generate the colorless mana needed to recast Survey Mechan, letting you repeat the entire process to drain opponents, draw your deck, and gain infinite life.
