How it works

1. Activate Ghave's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control, creating three 1/1 Saproling creature tokens.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Saproling token, adding CC.
3. Activate Ghave's second ability by paying 1 and sacrificing a Saproling, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop hinges on Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, which triples every single creature token you create to turn Ghave, Guru of Spores's usual token generation into an explosive surplus. By paying a mana to strip a +1/+1 counter from Ghave, you produce three Saproling tokens instead of one, which can then be fed into Ashnod's Altar to generate more than enough colorless mana to sustain the loop. You can then use Ghave's second ability to sacrifice one of those extra Saproling tokens, replenishing the +1/+1 counter on Ghave itself while looping indefinitely for boundless mana, tokens, and power.
