How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Insidious Roots triggers, creating three creature tokens and putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This intricate loop centers around casting Survey Mechan and sacrificing it to Ashnod's Altar, turning the artifact's mana generation into the fuel needed to recast the flyer over and over. Every time the Mechan hits your graveyard, Mortuary intercepts it to place it right back on top of your library so you can instantly draw it again with the Mechan's own activated ability. Meanwhile, Insidious Roots watches those creature cards leave your graveyard, flooding the board with Plant tokens whose numbers are dramatically tripled thanks to Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation's replacement effect. Those extra tokens can then be fed back into Ashnod's Altar for mana, while their creation triggers Insidious Roots to grow an unstoppable, ever-expanding army of increasingly massive Plants.
