How it works

1. Defeat Invasion of Amonkhet
2. Invasion of Amonkhet triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
3. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Taq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
4. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Lazotep Convert.
5. When Lazotep Convert dies, it triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
6. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Taq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
7. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
8. Repeat from step 4.

This elegant loop uses Shilgengar, Sire of Famine as the engine to sacrifice our creatures and generate Blood tokens, turning the graveyard into a revolving door. The magic truly happens when Invasion of Amonkhet is cast and transformed into Lazotep Convert, allowing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation. Because Ojer Taq triples the creature tokens we would create, and Shilgengar sacrifices creatures to fund its own massive resurrection ritual while creating Blood tokens in the process, every cycle feeds back into itself. By repeatedly sacrificing our cloned Ojer Taq to Shilgengar, we trigger its own back-side transformation trigger to continuously recast itself as Lazotep Convert—which instantly copies Ojer Taq anew and sets off an endless cascade of blood, sacrifice, and rebirth.
