How it works

1. Gain any amount of life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
3. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a 4/4 Beast creature token.
4. When the Beast enters the battlefield, Trostani triggers, causing you to gain 4 life.
5. Repeat.

This loop relies on a clever chain of triggers that feeds endlessly into itself once you kick things off with any initial source of life gain. That spark forces Heliod, Sun-Crowned to place a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth, which in turn causes the Baloth to spawn a 4/4 Beast token. The arrival of that new Beast instantly satisfies Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, whose passive life-linking ability restores the life total and loops right back around to fuel Heliod all over again.
