How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale.
3. Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Healer of the Pride triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This lovely loop transforms Basking Broodscale into a self-sustaining engine by taking advantage of Heliod, Sun-Crowned's passive life-gain trigger. Whenever you gain life, Heliod places a +1/+1 counter on the Broodscale, which in turn triggers its ability to manufacture an Eldrazi Spawn token. As that token enters the battlefield, Healer of the Pride immediately triggers to grant you 2 life—seamlessly feeding that life right back into Heliod to restart the whole cycle.
