How it works

1. Activate Soulmender by tapping it, causing you to gain 1 life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Crystalline Crawler.
3. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding .
4. Activate Pemmin's Aura's first ability by paying , untapping Soulmender.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the simple healing of Soulmender into an engine for infinite life and mana. Every time Soulmender taps to grant you life, the passive trigger on Heliod, Sun-Crowned rewards you by placing a +1/+1 counter onto Crystalline Crawler. You can then immediately cash in that newly minted counter using Crystalline Crawler's ability to generate the blue mana required by Pemmin's Aura, which untaps Soulmender to start the cycle all over again.
