How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
3. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Hinterland Sanctifier triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This elegant loop hinges on a self-sustaining cycle of life and growth, fueled entirely by the static triggers of your board state. Once you initiate the sequence, Heliod, Sun-Crowned rewards your lifegain by placing a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth, which in turn immediately spawns a 4/4 green Beast token. That new token's arrival triggers Hinterland Sanctifier to grant you 1 life, looping right back into Heliod to repeat the process indefinitely.
