How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Scurry Oak.
3. Scurry Oak triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Hinterland Sanctifier triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns a modest life-gain event into an escalating cascade of creation and growth, weaving together three distinct permanents into a self-sustaining engine. It all begins when you trigger Heliod, Sun-Crowned, using its passive ability to place a +1/+1 counter on Scurry Oak whenever you gain life—a feat easily kickstarted by Hinterland Sanctifier's passive life-gain whenever a creature enters under your control. That counter placement immediately awakens Scurry Oak's triggered ability, which births a 1/1 Squirrel token. The token's arrival triggers Hinterland Sanctifier once more to grant you that vital life, feeding right back into Heliod, Sun-Crowned to start the cycle anew and generate infinitely large creatures alongside an endless army of tokens.
